MV Discovery stops at Pitcairn
Thursday 7 April The cruise ship Discovery arrived at Pitcairn today on route to an area of Oeno Island 75 miles to the northwest of Pitcairn to visit the Solar eclipse tomorrow. The vessel arrived in rough seas and none of the 560 plus passengers were able to make it ashore.
The ship anchored approximately a mile of Point Christian or Har Point orf Polawana. Trading was brisk and at 5pm it was time to leave.
Leslie Jaques, Commissioner for Pitcairn and Tom and Betty Christian left on the ship for Easter Island where they will fly to New Zealand via Tahiti.
